SORRY FOR THE LATE POST! HAD TONS OF HOMEWORK TODAY, I WILL MAKE IT QUICK! SORRY FOR ANY ERRORS!
More heavy rain is moving back into the area. Some is moderate to heavy. Some locations, especially west of Interstate 65 may pick up around a half inch or less of rain. You may even hear a rumble of thunder later tonight.
Before I get to involved, computer models are going CRAZY with this particular system for the weekend. As a meteorologist, you must be able to figure out what solution is real and what is not. Most computer models with this system, I do not agree with AT ALL. Below, I will show the GFS solution.
Above are the two paths of this storm system which stands out to me the most. I have outlined the one I agree with in yellow. There is still some possibility of the white lined solution. If the white lined solutions plays out the GFS shows what will happen.
I have drawn the freezing line on this system in white. Notice the heavy precipitation, which would fall as snow, is in our area. Models are showing a BEAST of a system evolving into a blizzard moving into the northeast. I do not agree with this at all. Do I think the northeast will see a snowstorm this week? I think it's a possibility. Do I think we may see some snow behind this system? Yes.
Look at how the model turns this into a monstrous blizzard impacting the northeast. The GFS is moving this system to fast, I believe it will be slower than what it is forecasting. With that said, ignore this model and go with my opinion below! :)
What does Chris think?
I think rain will be the impact for our area this weekend. I don't think we will have enough cold air for this system. There may be some flurry action on the end of this system. We still need to continue to watch trends but lets not freak out about a computer model! Remember, It's a computer! :)
