Winter Weather Advisory in Effect

The National Weather Service has now decided to issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the entire forecast area. Their statement is below.

It should be noted that these amounts are subject to change and may
be adjusted with subsequent forecast updates. With the colder air
pushing in Friday night, temperatures are expected to fall into the
lower-mid 20s. These temperatures combined with the snow and wet
roads will likely result in hazardous driving conditions Friday
night. Therefore, after coordinating with surrounding offices, a
Winter Weather Advisory will be issued with this forecast issuance.
It will run from 6PM Friday night through 12 Noon Saturday.

It should be noted this will be the biggest snow system that we have seen this season. That does not mean to go out and get BREAD AND MILK!!!
Looking at the latest data, most computer models have been pushing the heavier snow band just south of the river. I feel this is the scenario that may possibly play out. It's hard to say exactly where the heavier bands of snow will develop.
Looking at the Jet Stream on both the GFS and NAM shows great similarity. This is why I'm almost certain of the heavier snow band being south of the Ohio River. You notice that is where the Jet Stream is in place as well.
What's Chris Think?

The Bottom Line...
SnowCast pinpoints exactly what I think. The heavier snowband just to the south of the Ohio River. There may be an isolated three inch location with the stronger jet stream in place. There will be slick spots during the overnight hours and early morning hours on Saturday.

Watching the trends...
Tonight, we should be able to clear out some. Clouds should begin to thicken tomorrow mid to later morning. Putting that into consideration, this will hold any of the colder air in place for overnight cooling and keep our temperatures down throughout the day. Temperatures during the day tomorrow should be in the lower 40s to upper 30s. Once the snow begins to move in, temperatures should be into the 30s.

Timing...
Timing for the snow to start around 2:00pm. Snow should really begin to accumulate sometime after 6:00pm tomorrow evening and continue through mid to late morning on Saturday.
