Heat, Storms and Relief Update

The heat will continue for at least one more day. I think tomorrow will be one of the hottest days of the year so far. Most places should range from 101-106. Heat index values will reach 110-112 for most places. Use extra caution if you are outside tomorrow. I recommend to just stay in and beat the heat!

Storm chances look to move in for Sunday. This could cause some problems for the Madison, Indiana Regatta. Let's go into details.

The SPC has a slight risk of severe storms for extreme southern Indiana and all of Kentucky. The main threats look to be damaging winds and large hail. This is a scenario of weak winds/shear and high instability. Latest computer models have extreme instability in place.

Look at the values for Sunday afternoon around the area. Some places could be near or over 5500 units! This will be able to produce strong/severe thunderstorms around the area during the day/evening on Sunday.

Expect temperatures to drop for Sunday. Latest computer models have temperatures in the 90s for highs! That's some relief right??

Storms in the area!!

Latest radar view is showing a heavy shower/thunderstorm in Orange County, Indiana just to the north of Paoli. This activity is moving to the south. If it holds together, Paoli should be impacted soon. More storms will fire through the evening area. A SLIGHT risk of severe storms exists east of I-65 this evening and for parts of the overnight. I will be here to watch things.
